The Ivy Asia, Guildford to open at Tunsgate Quarter

Tunsgate Quarter, Guildford’s premium retail, leisure and dining destination located just off the historic High Street, is delighted to announce that The Ivy Asia, Guildford is bringing its unique Asian inspired dining to the shopping centre in Spring 2022.

The Ivy Asia, Guildford will offer a unique blend of flavours and ingredients influenced by a variety of different Asian cuisines.  Guildford diners will be able to experience dishes such as tuna tartare with avocado and citrus ponzu, sesame crusted prawn dumplings, and an extensive sushi and sashimi selection. Clay pot prawns and tamarind curry, roasted aromatic duck and pancakes, and smoking BBQ lamb cutlets are some of the larger plates that will be on offer, plus vegetarian and plant-based options such as avocado crispy tofu with lime and ginger dressing, and roasted aubergine, miso and masago arare.

Tunsgate Quarter Guildford is home to an array of popular dining options, including Vietnamese Pho, The Cosy Club, GAIL’s Bakery, and The Ivy Asia, Guildford’s sister restaurant, the incredibly popular The Ivy Castle View.   Lifestyle retail brands at the up-market shopping centre include The White Company, Nespresso, OKA and Bobbi Brown, making Tunsgate Quarter a popular destination for Guildford’s visitors and locals alike.   The Ivy Asia, Guildford will open at the corner of Tunsgate and Castle Street, with an entrance within the atrium of the beautiful art deco building.

Claire Suggitt, Centre Manager comments: “We are thrilled to be welcoming The Ivy Asia, Guildford to Tunsgate Quarter.  Once again, we are seeing a trend of brands spreading their wings into Surrey and the restaurant will be an exciting new dining option for our customers in Guildford and beyond.”  Continued Suggitt: “We are confident that as we take our first steps away from the restrictions of the past 18 months, the restaurant will prove extremely popular and provide even more choice for our discerning customers at the centre.”

Owned by Merseyside Pension Fund and asset managed by CBRE, Tunsgate Quarter opened in 2018 and offers a desirable range of high-end retail brands plus diverse and popular dining options including Loaf, SOHO FINE ART, and Clarks.  Boutique gym operator GU1 Fitness fulfils the centre’s leisure option, supporting Tunsgate Quarter as an all-day destination with its gym, studio and café.

Tunsgate Quarter forms the heart of a £30.3 million redevelopment of Guildford’s historic Tunsgate area, and borders the cobbled High Street and the 11th century castle, as well as the recently pedestrianised Tunsgate Street with its collection of independent retailers.
