We don’t know about you, but we’re pleased to say goodbye to January and hello to February!

The spring term is well underway and we hope you have been enjoying our online courses, workshops and talks so far. We have plenty more coming up to keep you busy – take a look at our programme to discover what’s on.

Alongside our online course offering, we have been sharing lots of content on our social media channels and blog as a way of bringing the Institute to you while our doors are closed.

Our first online Window on the World talk of 2021 on Carl Linnaeus proved to be very popular, with over 40 of you joining us! Our programme of weekday afternoon talks will continue with two more planned this term:

A Positive Path Through and Beyond Lockdown
24 February, 3.30pm – 4.45pm

Join Carmen O’Connor for her timely talk as she shares her tips on finding a positive path into a better future.

John Evelyn, Renaissance Man
24 March, 3.30pm – 5pm

Cherrill Sands will return with another garden-themed talk; this time she will explore the life and work of John Evelyn.

Each talk will cost £5 to attend and will help support the Institute during this unprecedented time.

As well as keeping you informed with the latest Institute news and information, our social media channels are full of content to keep you entertained. From sharing images discovered in our Library Archive, to shining a spotlight on local artists or posting delicious recipes courtesy of V Café, we hope you’ll be inspired to join our digital community.
