Festive revellers in Guildford town centre will have access to a safe space first-aid point on key nights during December.
The first-aid point, located in two prime locations, will provide free treatment for non-emergency minor injuries and will be manned by trained health care workers and volunteers from St John Ambulance and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) as well as medical staff from The Casino Nightclub.
The first-aid points will be located on North Street, outside The Friary shopping centre near Nando’s restaurant and inside The Casino Nightclub, Onslow Street between 11pm to 4am on the following dates:
• Monday 16 December 2019
• Friday 20 December 2019
• Saturday 21 December 2019
• Tuesday 31 December 2019
The festive period can be a busy time of the year for the NHS and the emergency services; it is important that the Ambulance Service and Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department is there for people who really need it. By treating minor injuries at the first-aid point, attendance rates at A&E can be eased. However, always call 999 in an emergency.
This joint initiative is being led by NHS Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Experience Guildford, The Casino Nightclub, Guildford Borough Council, St John Ambulance and South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb).
