Elections for local borough councillors in all Guildford Borough Council wards will take place on Thursday 2 May. Any elections for contested parishes will also take place on the same day.

Polling stations will open at 7am and close at 10pm on Thursday 2 May.

If you aren’t already registered to vote, please do this as soon as you can. It takes just five minutes to do it online before the 12 April deadline to vote in these elections at

 www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

You can also contact our Electoral Services team using the details below for an application form if you don’t have online access.

Nomination papers for candidates standing in the local elections must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Guildford Borough Council no later than 4pm on Thursday 3 April.

How to vote and more information

We will start sending out polling cards to people who choose to vote in person from later this week. Please check on your card which polling station you will need to visit, as your polling station may have changed this time.

The deadline to apply to vote by post instead, or to change your existing postal vote arrangements, is 5pm on 15 April. If you need someone to vote on your behalf on 2 May, you can apply for a proxy vote by 5pm on 24 April.
