Updated 12 April 2021

As part of the second step of the plan for easing lockdown in England, non-essential retail, personal care premises, public buildings, indoor leisure facilities and outdoor hospitality now able to open again.

We will be sharing updates about town centre businesses reopening plans on our social media channels, so be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook & Twitter.

As restrictions are lifted and more people start to return to the town centre we continue to ask that visitors to the town:

  • Continue to follow guidance around handwashing and social distancing
  • Wear face coverings as required, unless exempt
  • Pay by contactless means where possible
  • Use the NHS COVID-19 app to check in to hospitality venues (please note, all members of a group must now check in)
  • Observe the ‘rule of six’ or 2 households only in outdoor settings
  • Mix only with your own household indoors (this may change at the next step of the government roadmap from 17 May onwards)

Be cautious.
Be calm.
Be kind.
